'Simple' Photo Contest

You've been invited to vote in our friendly photo contest!

The theme this past month was "Simple."

The rules are-- evaluate all 9 photos for composition, quality, etc. Choose your top three photos and then rank those three-- 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Please only make 3 choices and leave the others blank (also please do not rank only 1 or 2 of the photos-- to make your vote count you must rank 3). If there is more than one voter in your household, please refresh the page after a minimum of 10 minutes and then vote. The votes will be tallied on May 5th (so vote before the 5th!) and the photographer with the most points wins. To receive the results via email and to be notified of any future monthly photocontests, please write to Brian at phtcntst@yahoo.com and just say "add me" and I'll do just that!

A Hike at Herman's Gulch

45 minutes from home Elizabeth, Lucy, and I enjoy a perfect hike in Herman's Gulch.

Flowers are everywhere.

Including our Colorado State flower- the Columbine.

On the banks of the meandering stream.

Lucy leads her mommy to even higher ground.

And higher we climb.

Lucy stops to look back at the ground we've covered.

We came from down there.

Still more exploring to do. Lucy stops to smell the Indian Paintbrush.

A little break in a meadow. Elizabeth says, "Uh... you're a little too close for comfort."

With Lucy in hand, all is well.

One more stop by the babbling brook before heading back down.

Lucy enjoys a brief break in the comfort of her mommy's sling.

But she wants to take to foot (er... paw) once again and she blazes the trail all the way down.
